For Veterinary Professionals:

Dear Colleagues:
The ApocapsTM Veterinary Cooperative is an effort among aligned veterinarians across the country contributing towards amelioration of malignant canine neoplasms.
Veterinarians have a unique understanding of the difficulties in managing this disease. Many times we are cornered into sending clients with palliative measures we know will do very little. Often this is due to the client’s resistance to conventional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. Other times the nature of the disease in a given patient renders available treatments unappealing.
Some factors that contribute to this situation include:
- Life Quality Concerns
- Difficulty in Achieving Cures
- Prohibitive Economic Climate
- Side Effects of Recommended Treatments
- Age of Patient
- Surgical Pain
- Anesthetic Risks
- Hospital Time
This constellation of circumstances can leave us in a position of being able to offer very little as an attractive alternative. Frustration of both clinician and owner can be the outcome.
In an effort to provide at least a partial solution, we are in the process of engineering a oral product which speaks to these issues.
Our Goals:
- Ease of Administration
- Few If Any Side Effects
- Affordable
- Suitable for Geriatric Patients
- Painless
- Can Be Given at Home
- Measureable, Objective Clinical Improvement
At this time, we are achieving each of these results. Clinical trials have shown objective improvements in patients with lymphosarcoma, fibrosarcoma, hemangiosarcoma, undifferentiated sarcoma, lipomas, and plasmacytoma..
Average response rate has been roughly 1 in 4. Response is defined as achievement of measureable decreases in neoplastic cell loads (tumor shrinkage) within 60 days of continued use.
These results have been found without additional conventional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery.
The formulation produces an approximate side effect rate of 5%, consisting of digestive upset (anorexia, vomiting, or diarrhea) that can be attributed to the product alone. ApocapsTM were used in over 40 patients to assess safety.
The active ingredients of ApocapsTM are classified by the FDA as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) and are dietary in origin.
ApocapsTM is a source of dietary apoptogens. Apoptogens are compounds capable of inducing apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Canine cancer represents a state of apoptosis deficiency. The strategic induction of this process results in clinical improvement in these patients..
We are enthused about these results, especially when taken in the context of canine tumor care in general. However, we would like to improve and expand.
We are offering a one month supply of Apocaps, at our cost, to participating veterinarians. Since veterinarian-patient-client relationships are established, we are providing the veterinarians, not the clients, with the courtesy supply. In exchange, we would request any clinical feedback from the veterinarians as to overall impressions.
There is a downloadable request form that the veterinarian simply signs and faxes in:
Upon receipt of the request, we will send the courtesy supply of ApocapsTM.
In this way we obtain cooperative professional feedback from the use of this product, and we contribute towards improving outcomes in canine cancer care.
